Volunteer!

There are many opportunities to help the Fencing Club to be successful and provide the greatest opportunities for our kids.

Ongoing Opportunities

  1. Fencing Referees – the club is responsible for providing 2 referees for each fencing tournament we attend.   Previously, we have relied too heavily on a few of our own parents which then prevented them from seeing their own children fence. There are periodic referee clinics in the Dunwoody area for training .  If we do not have the volunteers, it cost us as much a $100/day to hire a referee.  All that is required is a 2 hour training course. Then you can shadow one of our existing referees for practice.  This is a great way to help at the tournaments.
  2. Timekeepers – To assist the refs in keeping scoring for each bout. This is a great way to learn more about fencing including the rules and about refereeing.
  3. Responsible Parent AM & PM – At each tournament, the club is responsible to have a parent available from check-in to completion.
  4. Fundraiser Chairman – To help the Booster Board manage and raise funding to support and advance the program.
